Girardi, another bad call?

Todays 4-3 loss was a bit bitter at Fenway. With 1st base open and Manny Ramirez coming to the plate, Girardi lets Mussina pitch to him. Another bad call? Pretty much. Sure he retired Big Papi just one batter earlier but we don’t have to remind ourselves what a slump Big Papi is in. It’s almost incredible and rediculous that Girardi didn’t give Mussina the call to walk him considering Manny went yard on the Moose just a few innings earlier. But what are you gonna do? After all it is only April. So we wait 2 hours to let A-rod think about a two on eighth to try and tie up or take the lead. It was pretty obvious A-Rod would not have the advantage in this one as Alex tends to put a lot of pressure on himself in big key situations. But the bottom line is that I would be talkin about a win here and possible sweep if the skipper would have just called a walk. Alhough it may be too early to jump to rash decisions, Girardi may start feeling the heat as the season progresses with more stupid decisions such as today. A great pitching effort from the Moose.

Another interseting topic around he city today was the interview today of the construction worker who buried Big Papi’s Boston Jersey under the concrete at the new Yankees Stadium. Now suppposedly the Yankees have a 30 year curse. Where the hell did he get 30 years from? So now the house that Jeter built is now cursed. I love it. If anything, living in the Bronx and owning a Red Sox jerse is a curse all its own. Good luck to you pal. May not be good when a few Bronx Puerto Ricans find you soon.

Lets see what the next few days bring as Jeter is expected to return to the line up.Hopefully the captain can get the ball rolling.Hughes is scheduled for the start tomorrow. Lets Go Yankees!!
