Should we be concerned with Boston’s offseason moves?

As Boston continues ther offseason rampage of star players Gonzalez and Crawford I am wondering if we should really be that concerned. I do think Gonzalez is a great player with a good batting average and a solid 31 homers last year but will he adjust well in the AL? Sure it will take him a while and with good scouting reports he will be fine but I think I need to see this transition. I am betting he does deliver but good enough to catch the Yankees? I am not so sure.

Crawford on the other hand is a strong force. A good hitter with runners on base and a great batter with lots of triples but It was pretty amazing to me he recieved the contract he did. I know his prescence is strong but I dont think he is worth the money. I kind of feel like he was bought just for the sake of shopping this offseason.

Ideally the Yankees shouldnt be concerned as we really dont need defense or runs scored, we led the majors in that last year. What we need is pitching and with Lee on the verge of signing we are looking pretty good.  And this is why I am not really concerned so far what Boston has done.Everyone keeps asking me, “what do you think this means for the yanks now that Boston has made these moves?” and well I think this definitely elevates their team but to what? Second place? Dont count out the Rays either, they will still manage to find a way to get it done.

I guess what makes me laugh more than anything is the franchise that once criticized the Yankees for spending sprees has now joined the process. I guess Theo may be the new Anakin Skywalker of baseball in charge of the new Evil Empire.
