Memo to the Pope, Stay Off The Infield Grass At Yankee Stadium!

Saturday April 19, 2008

If you have been in the city the past few days, you will appreciate the gorgeous weather that has come around. Just last week is was pretty cold with scarfs and coats, now it’s been shorts and pick up basketball games outside. It might be an indication of the hot weather in store for us this summer.

So Hughes takes another tough outing last night in the 8-2 loss at Camden Yards. He pitched a 1-1 tie to the 6th inning and then everything fell apart. Bats were pretty silent with Abreu getting a few knocks and Moeller going yard. This kid is going to be a great pitcher, I still stand behind him the way Girardi has. When he comes around he will be really solid. Let’s keep the faith. Our other youth takes the rubber today, Ian Kennedy. Last time Hughes loss three straight? Little league. Let’s see what he does next outing.
So the Pope is coming to Yankee Stadium tomorrow. What a great honor. Steinbrenner ordered the vatican to keep the Pope mobile off the infield grass. You really have to love that. I mean, that goes to show you no matter who you are, this field is just as precious and is considered sacred ground, stay off. Say what you want about Steinbrenner and sons but it goes to show you the importance they have for this way of life we call the Yankees. If you don’t understand this, you are not from New York or are a Mets fan.
We need a win today, Lets Go Yankees!!!
